Responsible for overall management and supervision of the Community Residence serving mentally ill and/or chemically addicted individuals.
Conveys clear understanding of Program and Agency philosophy and mission to staff and promotes appropriate working/living atmosphere within the home.
Serves as a role model and advocate.
Ensures the safety of consumers, maintenance, and cleanliness of the residence.
Develops and implements restorative services based on accurate and consistent treatment plans which are reviewed at least quarterly.
Facilitates and provides problem resolution to consumers and staff who require guidance.
Is familiar with and follows policies and procedures outlined in the Agency Employee Handbook, OMH Program Manual, Emergency Procedures, Corporate Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and NY Justice Center Policies.
Oversees Assistant Supervisor and direct care staff and daily operation of the program and facility. Assists with staff scheduling on a regular basis, ensuring the correct number and combination of staff are on duty for all shifts, reviews and approves time cards for submission to Payroll, conducts regular supervision and evaluates staff.
Assists in management of welfare benefits, ie: SSI/SSD, etc. as needed
Must convey respectful, open and friendly demeanor toward consumers, co-workers and Agency staff.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as referral/social histories, housing contracts and service plans.
Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with recipients, professionals, landlords, and co-workers.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and/or post-High School learning is highly desired. High School diploma is required.
Experience with Mentally ill and/or Mentally ill and Chemically Addicted individuals required. Valid driver’s license required. Must possess basic computer knowledge and skills.
